About Us

About us

Act2 Solutions are experienced professionals led by Andy O'Meagher who has been preparing actuarial certificates for more than 11 years. We deliver a quality product and expertise that is backed by actuary David Quinn-Watson who has over 20 years of superannuation experience.

The thing we most often hear from our clients is that they like the way we do business, the professionalism and friendliness of our team and our focus on developing strong ongoing client relationships, and of course, our lightning fast turnarounds.

We are independently owned and operated and not affiliated with any SMSF Administration Company. This gives you peace of mind knowing your client information goes no further.

Act2 uses the latest in technology to deliver the best benefits to our clients and can handle large volumes of certificates. We also focus on personal service and are always just a phone call away. Our clients range from small SMSF administrators and boutique accounting firms and high volume corporations.

Delivering a quality product is important to us as is a commitment to provide high levels of service but we also like to have fun in what we do. It could never be said that we take ourselves too seriously.

With a focus on community spirit we also actively contribute to charities and we like to thank our clients for their support on a regular basis.

Meet our team

We believe what makes Act2 stand out from the crowd is our people! We have a fantastic team who are dedicated and knowledgeable, but more importantly they're great to be around.

Being small, flexible and dynamic means we can develop strong relationships with our clients, understand their needs and provide help when needed.

Andy O'Meagher BSc. GDipEd. Managing Director

Andy is the Director of Act2 Solutions and the driving force behind most of the software and efficiencies that are at the heart of what we do. Thanks to Andy’s endeavours actuarial certificates for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds can now be delivered extremely quickly, accurately and in a more cost-effective manner.

He has a varied occupational background from selling pearls in Broome to teaching Computing and Science at Aquinas College in Perth. After a couple of years of studying Actuarial Science and developing software with an actuary, early in 2004 Andy obtained a position in Hobart preparing Actuarial Certificates for SMSFs.

When not in the office, Andy spends most of his time with his family doing all of the usual running around parents of teenaged girls do. He also has a passion for golf and is working hard to squeeze that into his working week (there’s just not enough time on weekends).

Helen Molloy Chief Operations Officer

Behind every great man is a great woman and in this case that would have to be Helen!

Having worked in the finance industry for over 15 years, Helen took a leap into the SMSF world when she joined Andy and Act2 Solutions in January 2011. As Chief Operations Officer at Act2, Helen encompasses every facet of the business and works passionately to continue growing the Act2 brand.

When she is not in the office, you will find Helen outdoors enjoying life with her son Taika and socialising with friends and family. Helen is currently completing her Diploma of Marketing.

Michelle Barker SMSF Administrator

Michelle has been part of the Act2 team since July 2012.

Since having daughter, Lilah, in October 2014, she has returned to the Act2 office on a part time basis and is in the office Mondays through to Wednesdays.

Michelle had her beginnings in Townsville, QLD – moving to Hobart in 2009 with her husband.

From here she settled in and started working in finance, managing trust accounts for a local property management company, and coming to Act2 to gain further experience within the finance sector and SMSFs.

Kristy Jackson Book Keeper/SMSF Administrator

Kristy is our newest member of the Act2 team, starting in September 2015.

She has brought with her extensive knowledge in the business accounting sector and has just completed her Diploma in Accounting.

Kristy grew up in the Midlands Area and moved to Hobart several years ago where herself and her Husband ran a successful Construction company and then went on and started their own Self Storage Business.

Her previous roll also included working in a large employment firm as an assistant accountant.

Charities we support

Giving back to the community is very important to Act2.
We make sure we look outside the compliance square and give back to our communities through quarterly donations to the following organisations.

Brightside is a not-for-profit Farm Sanctuary and Shelter for animals set on 50 acres in Tasmania's Huon Valley. Founded by Emma Haswell, and run by Emma and a small dedicated team Brightside rescues and rehomes hundreds of animals each year.

We educate, advocate and campaign for farm and companion animals. We provide education sessions to students in schools and at Brightside. We provide hundreds of abused and neglected animals with a permanent loving and secure home at our Sanctuary. Our mission is to raise awareness with regard to the plight of millions of factory farmed animals in Australia. We Rescue, we Educate and we Advocate for animals. We are a Voice for the Voiceless.

Burns Support Foundation

The Burns Support Foundation's charter is to provide direct and indirect support and assistance to anyone who has been burnt as well as their families. Support services include a parent/carer support group, a young adults group, a telephone help line and referral service, a newsletter and family camps which are run biannually.

Specific practical support includes meeting individual special needs (eg paying for high quality wigs) and also the provision of some financial assistance in circumstances of extreme hardship (eg for car repairs, telephone charges).

Camp Quality

Camp Quality's purpose is to create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia.

  • We're for life
  • We're for creating a better life through the cancer journey
  • We're for helping families and kids at every stage, in many ways
  • We're for making a difference that has kids feeling on top of the world
  • We're for positive thinking, an optimistic attitude and the glass half full
  • We're for laughter and for helping kids believe that that world is a great place
  • We're for the resilience and self esteem that get kids out of bed and into life
  • We're for impeccable integrity and being honest to a fault
  • We're for hope
  • We're for fun
  • We're for life

Youth Off The Streets

Youth Off The Streets has been providing services to homeless and disadvantaged youth since 1991. To break the cycle of disadvantage, abuse and neglect, all young people need to be provided with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Working in partnership with young people Youth Off The Streets is focused on developing their strengths and their ability to make positive life choices by providing education, rehabilitation, accommodation, counselling, early intervention and the opportunity to learn valuable life skills.

World's Greatest Shave

After the passing of Andy’s mother in late 2012 to cancer (of unknown primary), the team at Act2 raise money In memory of Pat Campbell through the World’s Greatest Shave

To raise money Helen got brave and shaved her head while Andy dyed his hair and beard blue. Being folically challenged, it was felt that shaving his hair just wasn’t a big enough sacrifice!

RSPCA Tasmania

The RSPCA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is the voice for the animals of Australia. RSPCA defends their dignity and fights to stop cruelty. The offer shelter, education, medical attention and love.

We believe in animals because they make our lives better and remind us what it is like to live humanely.

Know One, Teach One

Know One, Teach One is teaching street youth and changing their life. KOTO is a not-for-profit restaurant and vocational training program that is changing the lives of street and disadvantaged youth in Vietnam.

While on honeymoon in Vietnam, Andy and Liz dined in the KOTO restaurant in Hanoi where the staff were all former street kids learning English and vocational restaurant skills (front and back of house). We highly recommend KOTO to anyone visiting Vietnam and we also recommend this organisation to anyone wanting to make a difference to disadvantaged youth.

Fred Hollows Foundation

The Fred Hollows Foundation focuses on blindness prevention and Australian Indigenous health.

They are independent, non-profit, politically unaligned and secular.

The idea of anyone not being able to witness the glories of this world when they can be treated with a simple procedure at a small cost seems ridiculously unfair. Part of the appeal of this organisation is how many can be helped through each donation.
